From a 500px logo to a press-ready file

What happens between a blurry customer upload and a file your press can use — triage, upscale, background removal, colour, vectors and a final check, in one call.

A customer design placed on a tee in the studioPrepress

Every shop knows the upload. A logo screenshotted from a website, 500 pixels wide, on a white background, saved as a JPEG twice. The customer wants it on the back of a hoodie at full size, and the press needs 300 DPI.

Fixing that file by hand takes three tools and twenty minutes. DesignMint Prepress does it as one pipeline call, and returns a report that says exactly what it changed.

The prep chain, step by step

  1. Triage — read the file: size, DPI at the target print area, colours, transparency.
  2. Upscale — bring low-resolution artwork up to 300 DPI at the size it will print.
  3. Remove background — isolate the artwork on transparency.
  4. Quantize — reduce the artwork to the spot colours your technique can print.
  5. Vectorize — trace logos, lettering and flat art to clean vectors where the technique wants paths.
  6. Validate — check DPI, bleed and the technique’s limits, and attach a fix for anything that fails.

One call instead of six

A pipeline runs the whole chain for one decoration method. You send the raw upload and the print area in millimetres; the job comes back press-ready, or with a clear report of what could not be fixed.

Processing is asynchronous: the API answers with a job straight away. Poll the job, or register a webhook and wait for job.completed.

What it costs

Every Prepress service is priced in credits, and the same balance pays for an upscale, a mockup or a full pipeline run. Credits come in one-time blocks — the Starter block is $20 — and failed jobs are not charged.
